Mother just got home from the results of a test she had to do earlier today to simply announce to me that she's probably dying of cancer. Now I've suspected this all along, but I really never wanted to hear it, now she's got to do a bunch more tests tomorrow, sucks majorly.

I've never felt more awkward than the moment she said that.

So last night at Mynt Lounge was a bizarre night. It was pretty much jailbait central seeing as it was the last day of high school so all the kids came out to celebrate in... well not style, more filth. Far too many school dresses and way too many people drunk before they even arrived. When I got there, the line was already forming to be huge and when I got inside there was already close to 200 people occupying the venue at 9pm. The kids were keen and that didn't change until late into the night. I was outside and I could hardly move, my drink rack was so ridiculously full that it probably is eventually going to cause long term damage to my arms, but it was better than making smaller rounds.

Ended up finishing work at 5am, then headed home to bed. Didn't wake up until like 2 in the afternoon today, then had a belated breaky at like 4pm in the form of egg sandwiches. Now dinner is cooking to feast on at like 7pm, then I won't get to eat again until like 6am. My body must be ready to freak the hell out.

Massive show tonight. Pretty sure there will be blood. Also so much broken glass.

Mmm brunch, french toast with bananas, bacon and maple syrup. Always good to eat at like 11am to start a relaxing day. Bought scrubs season 6 at the plaza today finally to add to my collection. I still refuse to buy season 7 until it is dirt cheap.

Last night at netball I got roped into doing the scoresheet. That was different, I was intimidated at first, until I realised it was so simple a monkey could do it. Unless it was Donkey Kong, his ape like hands would crush the pen then he'd go on a rampage for bananas.

This afternoon also had chicken wraps for lunch, which were epic as usual and were consumed while watching the priorly mentioned scrubs.

It amuses me tonight that my work is the cause of difficulties at Rach's work, so her night will mirror mine almost, except she'll finish like an hour earlier.

So today was a pretty cool day. Started up with an early morning (well for him it was early) shoot-around with Al. This was pretty cool because I won every round by a decent margin and was shooting really good from all around the court. I also dominated him with right hand lay ups which I only got good at because I practiced while waiting for him as he was late as usual.

After this I went to hang out with Rach as we happen to have been together for 2 months as of today. So we decided we were going out to Raf's to get cake for lunch. Somehow this turned into getting a foccacia and spiders too, followed by Violet Crumble cheesecake, which was amazing. It tasted like if God baked Jesus and sprinkled him with magic. They so undercharged us too because the whole thing costed a grand total of $20.50.

Then the afternoon was spent watching new tv shows and relaxing until I had bar training at 6. Bar training was almost pointless tonight because it was just learning how to use the touchscreen on the registers which was so Macca's like that it creeped me out. Afterwards we had a tapas dinner there and the burgers tasted amazing. I mean seriously. I don't know how they did it but that was insanely delicious food.

Cold Day In The Sun

Today was planned out to be an epic day in the sun and heat. However Ocean Grove didn't seem to get the memo from the environment and decided not to comply, however it was still pretty damn fun.

First on the agenda (after brunch of pancakes of course) was to hit up Adventure Golf in Bellarine for some epic mini golfing action. Seriously this place is the best mini golf I've ever seen in my life. However to my surprise, they apparently don't open on Tuesdays until the summer holidays. I must go back there some time soon, my mini golf abilities must be fading away. After this failure, we headed into the main strip in Ocean Grove which I had not been to since my childhood (minus 30 mins there one geography excursion), strangely nothing had really changed. Which was good because it made everything really easy to find. It's such a beach town and nothing else. So we bought some supplies for lunch and then headed on down to the beach which I found surprisingly easily. There was no chance of swimming today, the water was like ice and the tide was really high. So my boardies had to lay to rest for a slight bit longer before I break them out again.

After this we headed on through to Belmont for Cold Rock, then home via the ring road. I enjoy days like this. Hopefully next time swimming and golf are actually involved though.

Today was pretty exciting, which was strange because I was excited for somebody else rather than me. I was actually on the edge of my seat waiting to find out where Rach would be placed next year for her nursing. It's strange to be affected so much by someone else's life, but it was worth it when we found out she got into the place that she'd hoped to get into. I'd tell you where but that's for her LJ to tell people. Either was I felt incredibly proud of her because she worked damn hard to earn it. Made for a fun morning though, everyone was going crazy.

Then tonight I played netball for the first time in god knows how long. Luckily, it was like riding a bike and all came back to me pretty quickly, and by quickly I mean I think I shot 10 goals in the first quarter and we won by a pretty good margin. I think I might be playing full time now as long as it doesn't clash with basketball, which I played straight afterwards with only 5 players. Meaning that I ran for 80 minutes straight. The team we played plays B grade on Wednesday nights (which is strangely the highest grade) and destroyed us with ease. It was nuts. Seeing as before hand we were the top team and they just joined.

So today was the day of my monday night basketball teams break up for the season. Now this is no ordinary party set up, I pumped way too much money through the team to get this shindig up and running. We ended up with probably like $250 to finance a gathering for 9 people. This involved, 6 bottles of spirits, a keg of beer, a hell of a lot of snacks, and enough meat to feed like 20 people. It was a pretty fun day, Rock Band was probably the highlight for me, I forgot how fun playing drums and beating Nick on guitar were. The best drum bit was in Lump by Presidents of the United States of America, because the drumline just goes crazy and I was actually keeping up with it.

The only bad part about hosting a party though is the fact that I constantly felt like I should keep everything under control because I knew in the end I'd have to clean the house, while everyone else went crazy making mess. If I drank that thought probably wouldn't have occurred, but not drinking was probably the right choice.

So my week has started winding down to the working portion of it. It kind of gets to a point where to mentally prepare myself for a full weekend of work I start doing very little. Well not too little. I mean I got up at 9 to go shoot around with Nick and hit the gym. Then did grocery shopping to get everything I needed snacks wise for the basketball break up on Sunday, which is going to be insane. However I don't think I'm going to drink for it because I'm just not feeling the need for alcoholism this weekend because I know I'll be tired, and I'll have to cook the BBQ etc, so this way I keep everything in check.

Then I spent most of my day planning holidays. Of all kinds, I found Brett, Nick and I's flights and accommodation for Sydney which is going to cost us $120 each in total for 3 days of mayhem. It's going to be awesome. Then I started looking at travel auctions because there's one that is 4 nights in Torquay that I'm tempted to bid on because it'd be awesome to stay there for a whole week and learn to surf, I've always wanted to learn how and even if I failed I'd have a whole week relaxing on the beach. I also started researching a Queensland holiday and went over my itinerary for Thailand. I think all this is going to infect me with the Travel bug then I'll want to go someone like Europe asap.

Today was a strange day, not a bad one though. However, it was pretty uneventful. Although I had a catch up coffee with Fannii which was pretty fun, when I told her I had a new girlfriend she was just like 'yep, that makes sense', so I guess the old role models of high school saw something that I didn't at the time. However she was excited to hear that Rach is fairly loud, outgoing and soon to be a full time nurse. We then gossiped about everyone I used to do economics with in high school, like the fact that Lucy is failing every semester, and that certain people were having/had babies. It was pretty amusing to see her reactions and tell her where I was going with my life.

After this Brett came over and watched Heroes and played Halo on xbox with some hilarious lag that meant people were appearing and disappearing all over the place. I had no idea how we were winning but we were. I also cooked us some awesome hamburgers for dinner.

Then we went to basketball and played against a team of 4 6"4 players and one 6 foot player, which was insane. We almost got a win aswell. I'm happy though, I've been playing well lately and I seem to be able to drive well again these days. I hope I keep it up.

I'm kind of wanting to start training really hard though, like playing better has opened up part of my mind that wants to be better again, like run harder, jump higher. I just hope I can get the motivation to do it.

Last nights game of basketball was surprisingly epic. It started off pretty close, we took a small lead early in the game and then started slowly falling behind. I went to the bench with 5 mins to go in the first half and it was 14 to 10 which I had scored 6 of our 10 points. While I was on the bench we quickly fell apart and ended the half on something like 27 to 14. Luckily in the second half, we came out firing, I played the best half of my life in recent years, scoring another 15 points to my total making my tally 21 points for the game. We ended up with an 8 point lead with a few minutes to go and closed out the game with a 5 point win. It was intense. So of course we had to go and get celebratory Cold Rock and Nando's. It was pretty fun.

Today was pretty simple, got passport photos taken. Cleaned out my wardrobe. Fixed my media server. Pretty productive in a dull way. However I took Jess to Cold Rock for the first time ever for her. She enjoyed it.

It was an amusing morning of her dad grilling her for not checking her oil etc and if she'd packed everything. So we had some waffles then took a trip to Safeway so I could put oil in her car and act all manly about it. Even though I'm totes not that manly.

After this I spent my 1pm driving to my exam struggling to stay awake in the car, I hit the rumble strip a few times. I made a skittles and a vodka and cranberry for us to start out the night followed by a Sex on the Beach. It probably wasn't the best way to start the night, but it was all hilarious.
Little Things

The little things in life make all the difference, at least that's what I like to think. Going that little bit extra just feels worth it lately. Anything to make life that little bit better for some people I guess. Plus it's fun for me, I get to see reactions.

Had an exam today. First exam I've ever actually finished and checked over before the allotted time to leave had come. I actually had to wait a couple of minutes before I could leave. It was so worth leaving quickly though because not only did I know more than I expected on the exam, instead of going straight home I may have got to go and hang out with Rach for a bit. Which I know seems sad, every entry seems to have her name in it these days. I really try not to drop it, but we do see each other a lot, and it doesn't seem to stop being good. So don't complain about it and just be happy that I don't go on mushy rants. Because that'd just be gross. We totally have a good 2 metres between as at all time, physical contact would just be weird. I mean what are we? A couple or something? That girl makes me smile like an idiot far too much. I don't know how but it's just different.

Work tonight for the only night of the week. I love POW! Such good songs and atmosphere. Hopefully it's a good night. I want to have a bit of fun just seeing my friends get drunk because I spend the rest of my weekend doing the same.

At Night

Yesterday was a pretty cool day, and by cool I mean it encompassed the very essence of procrastination and then moulded it into a lifestyle to fill my whole day.

It all began with a trip to coles to do the grocery shopping, which I'd never done at 10am before, the place was dead, it was brilliant, I love when it's quiet, no avoiding people and it all goes so quickly. I saw some things were on special that I need for the basketball break up next weekend so I must go and purchase them soon.

Then I attended the usual Thursday morning upper body gym session, which was pretty good, some of the exercises were starting to feel a bit easier so I might push up the weight a little bit next time. After this I actually did some study, of finance, the bane of my existance, but it had to be
done because the exam is tomorrow and I want to pass so I never have to see the subject ever again. Luckily looking back over it all it doesn't seem too hard. So I should be alright.

After this Rach has finished placement for the day and dropped over to watch some one tree hill before we went out to Geelong for dinner for Amy's 21st. Turns out Helen was early for the first time ever because we were so not ready to go, she was like 15 minutes early, I so only take 10 minutes to get ready, I thought I had another 5 mins of relaxing ahead of me. The night itself was pretty hilarious, it's cool how quickly I've fit in with Rach's group of friends, because they involve me in everything already without hesitation, hell they even signed me up to play mixed netball with them. Some pretty random in jokes occurred during the night. Eg 'Choking the duck', which for some reason sounds like an out of tune accordian. Treasure cake is win. Our waiter's name was Seacrest, that can't be real.

Everyone thinks our whole relationship is built on verbal abuse and beatings, it's pretty hilarious.

This morning I had to wake up around 6am, an hour which in the past 6 months I've become more familiar with seeing before bed, than as a time to get out of bed. My body clock must've been going through a deep state of shock when it had to awake to that hour this morning. I had to get up however for the very important occasion of going to my Psych exam, for Introduction to Psych B, it wasn't the most exciting of mornings. It was raining ever so heavily, and Nick still drives like a maniac. We also got to uni an hour early and just bludged instead of cramming. Due to me being off campus I had my exam in the Health building on the 4th level. Upon going to the exam I realized that I have no idea how to turn off an iPhone (which google later taught me how to do for future reference). Luckily I just gave it to the examiner to look after.

Turns out the exam only took me an hour then I went to chill in the library and listen to a song I've become addicted to on youtube. Then once Nick and Kat finished I met up with them in the caf. There must've been a fire in the Health building because 3 firetrucks showed up with the lights flashing but no sirens going (we assume it was to not alert the exam students). After this we organised a group of 7 of us to hit up Nando's and Cold Rock for what was the ultimate post exam lunch combo possible. Cold Rock was Milo ice cream with cookie dough and mnms, It was devine.

After this we had to drive Monica home to her place on Ryrie St, this required me to sit in the back of Nick's hatchback, which is no easy feat to achieve. I couldn't just sit normally, I was way too big for that. I had to sit diagonally accross the back seat for the first part of the journey, and Nick is an insane driver so I didn't feel safe at all with the random speeding and breaking, I was bouncing all over the place.

After dropping Monica off we went to Dan Murphys and bought a heap of spirits for the basketball break up next week. It was grand. I love that place, so much choice. It's magical.

FAIL. Wake up at <st1:time minute="30" hour="10">10:30am</st1:time>. Check. We’ll get better eventually. I swear.

That being said, we had bacon and egg wraps for brunch. Epic win.

Then I had to rush to work and back as they lost my tax details, turns out I’ve been getting underpaid all this time, so my pay tomorrow night should be epic compared to normal.

The trip to uni involved a car ride of myself, Rach and Helen, anytime spent with Helen I’m quickly learning is always hilarious. So we got to uni and they went to their exam, and I went off to hand in my assignment then study in the library. Well first I ended up doing Mynt kind of stuff, because Moli one of the Friday night DJs asked me to give him a list of Pop-punk music so that he could have a better set to play. So I obliged by giving him like a 3 page list of my favourite songs so I’m looking forward to the songs this week.

The way home was marked quickly by a trip to Cold Rock and accusations from Helen that we were such a couple, damn her it was all unintentional. However Baileys flavoured Cold Rock is so much win, that I think I almost shed a tear, however the tears were saved for Nando’s. We went from Cold Rock to the house of a BBQ we were going to be attending, but alas they weren’t there yet, and we were all hungry and on a schedule, so we bailed to Nando’s ever so quickly. I got extra hot, it was nuts, at first it was fine, then all of a sudden my eyes were watering and my throat was on fire. I was so full after all this food and was regretting the fact that basketball was in 90 minutes.

That being said I actually played awesome at basketball. 17 points, one of my best games in a while. Too bad we lost by 8 points.

Last night at work was kind of cool. I’ve never felt so appreciated, as due to me not being there on Thursday night and the noobs had to take control of the venue, the second I got back and things were under control I was being appreciated by all. It was good to know that everyone there digs the job that I do, because as bludgey as it seems. I do work pretty hard. I just prioritize and delegate a fair bit. I like to see things from above to take care of many areas.

It was a pretty easy night it seemed though, even though POW! Is still pulling big numbers (420 this week), it doesn’t seem to get any more intense. Especially towards the end of the night, when people just seem to bail. One of the bands called Girl Vs Ghost, had a really cool paramore kind of vibe going on. They sounded awesome. Also some time during the night someone stole the DJs giant pony, from right under their noses. It was pretty hilarious.

Didn’t get upto too much today, just gymmed and did my last assignment for the semester of uni. Took only a few hours which was handy. Back to work tonight for hopefully a short night due to daylight savings.

Today was a fun day. We slept in (as we tend to do) and then had waffles for breaky which broke my waffle virginity and headed on down to the plaza as Rach needed to get a 21st present for a party she was going to on the weekend. While at the plaza we got busted holding hands and being coupley by Macca’s people. It was pretty funny because we let go and tried to act normal even though they knew, and then preceded to bag us for going on a ‘date’ to the plaza. Damn them. It was a pretty good trip to the plaza though, we got our first photo as a couple as there were people dressed up as Taz and Daffy Duck there and we got a Polaroid each with Taz, then we got to watch it develop as we walked around the plaza. I look far too happy in them both, it’s uncool, Rach isn’t meant to know I’m happy.

We spent the rest of the day watching One Tree Hill and then went to my house so I could cook us some dinner, it was a simple day but it was one of those days where everything is just good.

Study Day once again. The plan of action was a good one. Myself and the lady would attempt to study at our own houses without distracting each other and then I would go over to her house for dinner and stay over. Safe to say, I was there by lunch time so we could study together. After of course I spent the morning shooting around and using the gym.

I was so excited when I got home from the gym because I had a CD in the mail which happened to be a signed Motion City Soundtrack album which I won for like $8 on ebay, so I took it straight to Rach’s house to show off even though she wouldn’t have known the band at all.

Turns out there was an alterior motive to have me over for lunch at Rachael’s house though. Her father is mad for things on special, especially hot dogs, and bought 2.6 kilo while they were on sale, and expected the family to eat them all. Not having it be the first time this has happened the family didn’t really want to eat them that often. So I became the new sucker to feast on the wieners. While she devoured a delicious looking banana roll. It was a trap, and I fell for it.

Then we studied to Motion City Soundtrack and both got suckered in by the intense catchiness of L.G. Fuad (Lets get fucked up and die). It’s such a upbeat song with morbid lyrics, it’s brilliant. Also we ended up on a plaza trip to get a gym ball as being a stubborn girl Rach wanted to master my skill of kneeling on the ball, maybe one day she can be epic and stand on it like me. Or my new exercise of standing on it and doing squats with shoulder presses.

I had no work at Mynt tonight so instead I headed on down to Lucky Break to have a few drinks with Brett and Jess, and Rach also joined us until she went to work. It was great to actually have a drink again for once. I haven’t had any alcohol in ages, and it tasted better than I remember. I know that sounds so alcoholic, but it was fun to just get out and shoot pool and chat. Good music was playing, shots were $5 and we were wasting money.

After the night was drawing thing I ended up hanging out in Macca’s dining reading until Rach finished work. I’m reading Mao’s Last Dancer and it’s actually really good. So well written and so interesting.

Brunch Wednesday, the last one for the next few weeks due to Rach going on placement then going away for a week to the Grampians (yes I know we actually won’t see each other all the time, shock horror). But on the menu this morning was Canadian pancakes (pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and banana), followed up by Pancakes with Blueberries, icing sugar and whipped cream covered in butter. It was delicious. Almost good enough to want to have more often.

Went on an epic walk with that girl I happen to be dating today though. Initially there was no distance set on the walk, we just wanted to get out for a while. It turns out that we walked all the way to manor lakes and back to buy stuff for lunch. We got about half way there and figured, why the hell not. Lets just go for it. We made delicious chip and gravy rolls, high school canteen style.

That night I had basketball against a team we normally lose to horribly and we legitimately beat them good, but at least 15 points. It was awesome, I was not expecting it and it felt really good.
